I was over the moon when James and Monica reached out to me for a super fun engagement session in New York City. They wanted an editorial remake of their first date with a laid-back feeling that complemented the Brooklyn scene. We spent the afternoon strolling through Prospect Park, riding the carousel, and visiting the Brooklyn Museum.

James and Monica met on Hinge in mid-2020. Monica laughs because she almost swiped left. After all, James lived in Jersey City at the time - which New Yorkers consider long distance from Brooklyn. They began kindling their relationship through Facetime dates and witty chats. Their relationship was built on outdoor strolls, and grabbing to-go cocktails, and expanded as the lockdown loosened. They share a love of film cameras, records, and their cats Linguine and Pineapple.

It was really fun to recreate and experience James and Monica's first date with them. They reminisced and shared stories of their relationship during our time together. I also loved how playful they were together in front of the camera. They can hold great conversations, but also hop on the carousel and be silly.

Monica wore a beautiful white silk dress from Anthropologie with a Tiffany Blue heel with a bow detail. James opted for a thrifted look that gave him a vintage feel. I loved that they dressed up as if this were an event - which it was! One of the biggest events of their story to come! I love that their images exude their love for one another!
