Xana + Marc’s wedding at a private home in Newport was a quintessential New England affair. These two reside in New York City together and love to travel. They especially love Rhode Island & Martha’s Vineyard so this oceanfront property overlooking the cliff walk was a perfect backdrop for their wedding celebration!

I first photographed Xana and Marc’s formal wedding ceremony at Gramercy Park in NYC! They chose to officially tie the knot with just their immediate families. Now, it was time for their big celebration with all of their family and friends!

Detail-Oriented Newport Summer Wedding

When I arrived for the day, I captured Xana putting on her final touches in the living room space of the home. Marc’s family home has beautiful historic architectural elements and natural light that made getting-ready photos so unique. Xana’s dress looked stunning on her! She wore a removable skirt over a fitted lace dress for the ceremony and cocktail hour. The dress was gorgeous and complemented the wow factor of the private location and grandeur of the wedding. It complemented Marc’s morning suit perfectly!

Once Xana and Marc were ready, we headed into the courtyard for their first look. Watching Xana walk out to meet Marc felt straight out of a storybook! They both were filled with so much excitement and joy for the day ahead!

New England Tented Wedding

Guests arrived dressed to the nines with fun colors and patterns! Everyone made their way across the property to the ceremony location on the lawn right on the edge of the cliff walk. Xana and Marc decided to officiate their ceremony themselves, reading personal and heartful vows in front of family and friends. They of course included their dog, Maalouf, in the wedding as the ring bearer!

One of my favorite moments of the day to capture was the cocktail hour. While everyone enjoyed drinks and the raw bar I loved watching Xana and Marc hug and laugh with their guests. They were so grateful to have everyone there! We, of course, snuck away to capture some portraits along the rocky coastline.

The reception tent was decorated beautifully with many coastal details and a blue color scheme. The wedding was sophisticated yet had playful touches, like the cake topper, that highlighted the coziness of the backyard wedding. Xana made a quick dress change by removing the skirt, and then kicked off the reception with Marc by playing guitar and singing together on stage! Everyone enjoyed a night of toasts, dinner, dancing, and fireworks out over the water! The entire wedding gave a modern nod to the old Newport mansion luxury. They danced the night away and finally left in a getaway car - I had to throw in a Taylor Swift reference here ;) Congratulations to Xana and Marc!
